Hey Cutters...

What's up? I hope you all have a phenomenal New Year. New Year, new site. RichInKC has redesigned DiamondDallasPage.com and we've added alot of new stuff. Some of you may have peeked and seen the changes already, but we are now officially ready to let people know it's available. Check it out to see the new photos, video clips, and a ton of new information on YRG.

I'm sure you all made plenty of resolutions. If so, let me ask you two questions.... Did you make that resolution a goal? Did you write them down? If you didn't make it a goal or write it down, lets' face it... it was probably all bull$hit. The only way to make goals a reality is by writing them down and being accountable to nobody but yourself. Just food for thought.

Since we are speaking of setting goals that were written down we need to talk about Larry “Smokey”Genta. Yes Smokey set a goal back on May 30th of this year... that by time his 50th birthday came around which was 14 months away he was going to lose 50 lbs. Smokey not only set the goal. He wrote it down and took pictures every month and put it up on this site right here in our case studies section so that you could take the journey with him and be inspired. To tell you the truth I don’t think Smokey really had any idea if was really going pull it off or not when he first said it and then wrote it down but he jumped in with both feet anyway. You have to really know Smokey to really appreciate what he has accomplished. You see Smoke has never really worked out a day in his life and along the way a very talented guy has had some really bad breaks. The kind of bad breaks that will pull you down and make you want to quit. But he didn’t... He didn’t quit he stayed focused and as the bumps came along he shook them off... wrote them down and just kept going.

If you haven’t had to chance to read Smokey’s journal you owe it to yourself to take the time to read it. It is not only inspirational but it funny as hell at times. You see Smokey set his goal of 50 lbs for 14 months... and lost 73 lbs in half the time because of YRG, CRG (Cooking for Regular Guys) and Living Life at 90%. Yes our Smokey has gone from 270 lbs to 197 lbs... Damn! Smokey hasn’t been 197 lbs since he was a Junior in H.S. ... Anyway if you don’t have to the time to read the whole case study at least take the time to go to the front page and read his story he just wrote in his own words... He is truly an inspiration... To quote Smokey you will be amazed... Great job bro we are all very proud of you.

I had a great turnout in St. Louis at Get Hooked On Health. I flew in Thursday night before the show to do P.R. on Friday morning. Of course, doing P.R. means getting up at 5 AM where I did the Fox morning show from 6 AM to 8 AM. We kept coming in with 2 1/2 minute bumpers talking about YRG. We actually did four 2 1/2 minute spots throughout the show explaining what YRG is, yoga meets old school calisthenics meets slow motion isometric movement and resistance. I also explained that this was YRG, not yoga. I figured the quickest way to get regular guys into doing some form of yoga is to change the name. It's kind of like the way that Kentucky Fried Chicken changed their name to KFC. In this health conscious age, people are trying to stay away from fried chicken, but they may eat KFC.

I also ended up doing another TV show later that day where I had Spongebob himself doing YRG. The next morning, the Yoga Doc and my buddy Robert Paul, a new member of Team YRG, headed over to Get Hooked On Health for my speaking gig on YRG. We had a tremendous turnout for all three speaking engagements and I want to thank Paul Sly, Vice President of Charter Communications, and Susan Benigas for bringing me in to host at the expo. There are plenty of pictures up on the site, including the one with Spongebob. How did St. Louis find out about DDP and YRG? Susan read the article in L.A. Weekly a few months ago and thought I would be a perfect host for their event. YRG is changing the world one regular guy, and gal, at a time.
