So what's been happening in the world of DDP... Two words... Good Gawd should say it all.. but before I get into what's coming up with me... I think I have to address something that I 've been asked about over and over and over and over again... Did I see the HP commercial showing Jay-Z blatantly ripping off the Diamond Cutter sign to define how he is known.. If you haven't seen it, you can go to this site http://www.hp.com/personal and then click on viewing room and then Jay Z. This is the very same commercial that aired during the NBA Finals.
-----Original Message----- This is a message to HP's CEO, from a valued customer: Larry Genta. Customer's Phone: 555-555-2271 Mr. Hurd and Associates,You must look into...and together with Jay Z, CEO of Hip Hop and Role Model, address the blatant use and his fleecing of the hand sign that he uses in your ad campaign. The lawsuit that Jay Z has against him will ultimately settle out of court, and my life long friend...will be somewhat vindicated. This is a kid who probably had it tougher and came up with nothing like Jay Z, but as Diamond Dallas Page (Falkenburg)the professional wrestler he branded that sign and was seen and known worldwide by that very 'Diamond-Sign'. Now he was not a unknown or even a middle character...DDP was the wrestler who teamed with NBA superstar Karl Malone and also wrestled in high profile events with Jay Leno. He has acted in Rob Zombie's latest movie and has a fitness program called Yoga for Regular Guys. Your company could capitalize on the union...matching these hands to bring the many worlds of the over-achievers together with that sign. To the administrative filter who reads this...I am not a fan, mark or agitator. I just believe that if this would be looked into with a creative and fair approach that everyone could benefit...rather than corporate attorneys wrestling with their clients time and money. I am indeed a life-long friend and was with my buddy Page when we came up with his wrestling persona or 'gimmick'. He neither solicited me to write this or knows that I am.I live in Florida...watched the NBA game and saw this spot. When I saw this site, and because I know right from wrong, I had to write my thoughts. I also know how role-models, and corporate spokesmen should represent themselves, and while I am so impressed with Jay Z, he must be aware of this inpropriety. It always surprises me how people demand respect but sometimes forget to give it. Larry Genta
