Yo Cutters…
What’s up? If you haven’t been to the site, you should check it out and check out the new images we’ve got from Acclaim’s Showdown Legends of Wrestling. They’re still in the works and getting better all the time. I think it’s an honor to be brought into the Acclaim Legends game with two of my mentors, Jake “The Snake” Roberts and “the American Dream” Dusty Rhodes. I’ve already made my feelings known about the fact that my third mentor, the original Assassin Jody Hamilton, is not in the game yet which means they are missing one important legend. I’m really looking forward to playing this game because I’ve never faced the Dream or the Snake in the ring and this will be my chance to drop them like a bad habit.
We’ll see if you can reverse the Dusty’s Bionic Elbow into the Diamond Cutter. Jake and I always talked about the DDT versus the Diamond Cutter. Depending on how good you are on the game, only you will know which move is better.
I’ve got to tell you a story about a time when Jake called me back in 1997. He started the conversation with “Congratulations, Kid.” I said, “Congratulations? For what?” He replied, “For re-inventing the DDT.” And he was right. I can’t tell you how many people have called the Diamond Cutter the DDT over the years, never knowing the relationship between the two. I always found it amusing and flattering at the same time.
Now, the great thing about this game is you just don’t get to play with the superstars of today. It’s a combination of legends from the 70s, 80s, and 90s…and even some of us that made it into the millennium. The game comes out in April and I’ll keep you posted.
What else? Kevin Nash came into town to spend a few days with me this week. Look for Kevin in the new movie The Punisher that will come it in April. The movie is based on the Marvel comic book about a police officer whose family is assassinated and he goes after the bad guys for some payback. As you can imagine, Nash is one of those bad guys who is sent to punish The Punisher. He’ll be the nearly seven-foot Russian with bright blonde hair. You can’t miss him because I bet he will be kicking some serious Punisher a$$.
It’s the first time I saw Kev with his new haircut. It reminded me of the days when he was Vinnie Vegas. We had a great time while he was here. We even got a chance to drop by the Jimmy Kimmel Show and pay our respects to the Hulkster with our buddy Rich Minzer. It was like old times. Me, Hulk, and Nash in the back room drinking beers and telling stories. Nash left after about four days and, as soon as he left, my buddy the Yoga Doc and his wife Jen came in to visit. The Yoga Doc (Dr. Craig Aaron) is my partner for a book that we’re writing called DDP’s Yoga For Regular Guys. I’ll keep ya posted on that as it moves along.
The night the doc came into town, Kimberly and I already had dinner plans with Rob Zombie and his beautiful wife Sheri. You’ll know how gorgeous Sheri Moon is if you got to see House Of A Thousand Corpses. One of the things I talked to Rob about was being in another book I am working on called Live Life at 90%, which will feature people who overcome the odds to fulfill their dreams. Rob Zombie is one of those guys. I’ll keep ya posted.
Be Unstoppable, and live life at 90%
