In 1996 and 1997 The NWO's Kevin Nash and Scott Hall were running rough shot over everyone in WcW... Nobody could touch these Guys... Together they were the strongest force in Pro-wrestling period... After Hogan turned and joined the NWO they were totally UNstoppable and they recruited one guy after another to join the NWO... Because I was best friends with both Hall and Nash... managing Hall when he was the Diamond Stud in 1991 and tag teaming with Nash when he was called Vinnie Vegas in 1992 it seemed a natural that DDP would join the NWO... I always say there is ... Better than... Less than and Different than... As always I choose to be Different than... the Truth is ... the whole angle was my idea and Kev and Scott loved it and new how hard I worked to get to where I was at and they both remember that I was always there for them when ever they need me... they new I was really frustrated with the WcW office and was thinking of leaving for WWF and they both wanted to help me out... the funny part was (not so funny back then... Ha!) the bookers who wrote the show did NOT want those Guys touched especially by me so they pulled it off the TV sheets 10 weeks in a row (in other words it was written to be on the show that night and then pulled off at the last minute... f---ing wrestling... Ha!)... the really funny part was that only helped me and the angle... Watch the reaction of the people and you tell me... This was without a doubt the single biggest thing that helped me become a Main Event Top Guy and eventually pushed me to become a 3 time World Champion... I will be eternally grateful to both Kev and Scott for the rub... This show was our first HUGE show at the Super Dome in New Orleans in front of 33,000 people on Monday Night Nitro... What a Rush...

In 1997 "The Macho Man" Randy Savage and DDP were the feud of the YEAR according to PWI... this was a totally intense rivalry and let me tell you very little of the physical impact was for show... We beat the hell out each other... This particular night I will never forget it... God was with me this night... in the middle of beating the hell out of the NWO the crutch started to break apart and broke lose as I was hitting virgil ... I never knew it at the time but as the crutch broke way a 12" piece started off in like a missile into the crowd... Like I said God was looking out for me... as you will see the 12" piece of crutch hit the 2" piece of ring rope and bounced back in the ring instead of planting it into someone's head or face... I thank God every time I watch this... Amazing...

My feud with Savage was Defining moment for me and when a... Defining moment comes along you either DEFINE the moment or the moment will Define YOU... This was one of the coolest moments of my entire career... In 1997 I dressed in the full gimmick of a wrestler named LA PARKA ... He was a top guy in Mexico and had a nice little cult following in the WcW... one night I would impersonated La Parka during my feud with Randy Savage... Not a soul in the building new... and I mean NOBODY! They hid us in a hockey dressing room to keep us separate from all the other wrestlers... the funny part was he didn't speak english and I didn't speak spanish... through a type of sign language we both sort of made up I had to learn his gimmick by watching him and practicing with him... It was classic I wish I had the locker room filmed... Check it out and WATCH how the crowd reacts... This was truly a magic moment in my career... The one thing no one ever really gives me credit for is the fact that I was really the first one to introduce Wrestling DIVA'S... The Diamond Dolls... of course there were women involved in wrestling for years like the sweet Miss Elizabeth being the biggest name of all BUT no one had SMOKIN HOTT LADIES dress to impress till DDP created the "Diamond Dolls"... take a look at these videos and you tell me..
