RichInKC:
You both mentioned people you pattern yourself after, Arn and Tully. Both were known for isolating a piece of the
body and working on it. The Andersons
have always been known for working the arm.
Do you two have anything in mind along those lines?
Luther: I think we will work along those lines. It just makes sense and it's logical. We need to get on a body part, attack it viciously
and wear it down with quick tags to keep the fresh man in and on top.
Ray: I really want to concentrate on the lower back.
You have to be creative to do that just like you have to be creative
to work on the legs. Have you ever seen a guy work on a guy's legs,
then whip him to the rope? I always
hate that.
When
me and the Cat tagged together, he really didn't know much about tag wrestling.
I was literally coaching him while we were out there. I don't think anyone caught on to that. Actually, I'm kind of hoping they didn't. I will be out there to remind Luther what needs
to be done to keep the match tight, and he will do the same for me.
RichInKC:
You mentioned that you saw a lot of possibilities for your angles. Do you know of any concrete plans for the two
of you so far?
Ray: We haven't had a chance to meet with our new
writers or creative consultants or whatever they're calling them now. I can tell you from our point of view who we
would really like to work with. One
team would be the Armstrongs. I
really respect those guys and I think they are just now starting to get
their break. My old partner and
I used to wrestle them when we were on the outlaw circuit, so I am familiar
with their work and I know how good they are as a team.
It's a shame that the majority of the wrestling community hasn't
had a chance to really see what they can do.
I love working with Booker T and Stevie Ray. Harlem Heat is without a doubt one of the best teams in the business
today.
As
for the future, only time will tell. There
has been talk of using the Coach Buzz Stern to bring up other new guys
and have their work under his tutelage.
There is even a plan to bring in an assistant coach. This guy would be someone everyone would recognize
and definitely fits the bill.
